Office of Academic Affairs
The mission of the Office of Academic Affairs is to provide leadership and service to students and faculty in their roles as members of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center’s community.
The Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs supervises the activities of Student Services, Registrar, Financial Aid, TTUHSC Libraries, Classroom Support, Interprofessional Education, the Writing Center, Institutional Health, and Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation. The office promotes and ensures academic quality at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and encourages the efficient use of resources to achieve that end. It does so by developing and administering programs, policies and procedures relative to academic affairs that advance the academic missions of the institution.
Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation promotes institutional effectiveness through ongoing, systematic planning and assessment efforts in order to support faculty and staff in achieving the institutional mission and maintain continued reaffirmation by the Southern Associate of Colleges and Schools-Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
Student Services is an institutional centralized information office that provides an array of student support services.
The Financial Aid department is committed to excellence and our staff is here to serve current and future students.
Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar also supports and strives to meet the needs of prospective students, faculty, staff, administration, and alumni by providing academic information regarding the various schools and disciplines of the HSC.
Office of Institutional Health
The Office of Institutional Health provides students and faculty preventive solutions to transmissible disease known to be of risk in health care. Limiting the risk of health care exposures through the use of immunizations, the annual Flu vaccine, and proactive exposure management, the Office of Institutional Health works with all campuses to meet requirements and needs for TTUHSC students, employees, and volunteers.
Classroom Support provides classroom scheduling and support for academic classes, resident training and faculty/staff meetings at TTUHSC in Lubbock and regional campuses.
Office of Interprofessional Education
The Office of Interprofessional Education provides collaborative team-based approach to health care to provide high quality patient care through teamwork, simulation, problem-based learning, and combined team training.
The central administration of the libraries is located in the Preston Smith Library of the Health Sciences in Lubbock. Public services and library collections, however, are dispersed among the four Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center campuses in Lubbock, Amarillo and Odessa.
TTUHSC Writing Center
The TTUHSC Online Writing Center offers online tutoring and provides writing resources for all TTUHSC students. Periodic writing workshops are open to students, staff, and faculty from all campuses.
