How to Apply
Students interested in the SABR Internships should refer to the summaries of the faculty sponsors' research interests. You are encouraged to contact potential mentors whose interests match your own to discuss possible projects.
To be eligible for this program we ask that you are an undergraduate who has interest in performing scientific research and attending graduate school. Applicants who are currently enrolled in graduate school or who have taken graduate classes will not be eligible for review. Applicants taking post-baccalaureate classes with the intent to enter graduate school will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Deadlines and Decisions:
The deadline to apply to our 2015 SABR program is February 13th. After the deadline, our SABR committee will review the applicant's research interests, academic performance, letters of recommendation, and personal essays. This process determines which applicants are the best fit for the TTUHSC GSBS faculty as well as establishing an alternate group. Early decisions will be made by March 27th, while alternate applications will be considered after April 1st. Decisions are announced on a rolling basis from mid March through late April, or until all positions are filled.
The SABR program receives ~70 applications per year, taking only 10 interns based on the availability of funds and mentors.

Please submit an official or unofficial transcript of past and current coursework (including grades), a one page statement of current/future educational goals, and a sealed letter of recommendation using either the "CONFIDENTIAL REPORT" form or a standard written letter. Your letter of recommendation may come from any source, but it must be sent in a sealed envelope or directly to the SABR coordinator's email inbox (firstname.lastname@example.org) from the writer. Letters of recommendation emailed from the student as an attachment will be considered an invalid reference.
Late applications will not be considered for the SABR program, so please have all of your materials submitted before the February 13th deadline!
