Biography

Maria (Heidi) Villalba completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology from West Texas A&M University, Canyon, TX, in 2010. She received her Master of Science in Biology from the same university in 2014. Heidi joined the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences as a PhD student in January 2013, and is presently working in the laboratory of Dr. Thomas Abbruscato with the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Research Interests:

Heidi’s research interests include blood-brain barrier, stroke, sodium glucose transport, and brain drug transport.
