About the Office
As Director of Communications and Marketing at TTUHSC, Mary is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy for the university, which employs more than 6,000 people on campuses in Dallas, Lubbock, Amarillo, El Paso, Abilene, Odessa and Midland.
In this role, Mary serves as the primary spokesperson and is responsible for media relations for all seven campuses throughout Texas, and is tasked with effectively promoting the TTUHSC brand. With years of experience in incident command and crisis management, she serves as the crisis communication coordinator for the institution; coordinates all public announcements and events, including press conferences; approves all communications disseminated by the institution including written publications, advertising, videography, social and emerging media; and maintains all finances, budget and contracts related to communications and marketing. In addition, Mary oversees all communications and marketing efforts for Texas Tech Physicians, the medical practice plan located in Lubbock, Amarillo, Odessa and El Paso.
Mary reports directly to the President and serves as a member of the President's Executive Committee (PEC).

TTUHSC is a component of the Texas Tech University System. The President of TTUHSC reports to the Chancellor, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the System. The Chancellor and the President are responsible to the Texas Tech University Board of Regents, which sets overall policy for the Texas Tech University System, Texas Tech University, and TTUHSC.
