Welcome to the Amarillo campus and the Texas Panhandle. Located 120 miles north of
Lubbock on Interstate 40, the Amarillo MSA has 200,000 people who live and work in
Potter and Randall counties. We are proud to be part of the School of Health Professions
and the TTUHSC team.
The School of Health Professions arrived in 1994 with the expansion of the Occupational
Therapy and Physical Therapy programs to this regional campus. Lecture classes are
conducted in a distance education format and supported by the combined efforts of
faculty in Amarillo, Lubbock, and Odessa. Clinical rehabilitation instructional labs
are conducted onsite by Amarillo faculty in a facility with over 10,000 square feet
for use by the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences. We also have excellent working
relationships and clinical affiliations with local healthcare agencies such as the
Northwest Texas Healthcare System, Baptist St. Anthony’s Health System, and the Veteran
Affairs Medical Center.
The School of Health Professions is located in a 155,000 square foot facility that
houses the academic and clinical programs for the School of Health Professions' physcial
therapy regional program and the School of Medicine. The building is adjacent to the
School of Pharmacy and creates a true campus environment for our students. Located
in the Harrington Regional Medical Center complex, students at TTUHSC Amarillo will
find a rich and rewarding educational experience.
Our students work hard, but also take advantage of area activities. We enjoy the four
seasons in the Panhandle. Amarillo is located on the original Route 66 with beautiful
plains and canyons nearby. The city also has several parks and golf courses. The city
has cultural events such as the Amarillo Symphony, the Amarillo Opera, The Amarillo
Little Theatre, and Amarillo Dilla baseball. For weekend trips, Palo Duro canyon is
20 minutes away, Lake Meredith recreation area is one hour away, and skiing can be
found in the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado.
Contact our campus or the Office of Admissions for more information about our programs
or the regional campus.
