Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management

The Healthcare Management Program is an on-line Bachelor of Sciences degree that prepares the student to enter management and leadership positions within healthcare organizations. Emphasis is placed on relating the knowledge and skills to real-world applications in healthcare settings. A variety of students from clinical backgrounds who are transitioning into management positions, Associates of Applied Sciences students who are seeking a Bachelor's degree, as well as other students with a specific interest in healthcare management have successfully completed this program without moving from their home area or quitting work. Students may attend on a part time or full time basis.

BSHM Students are eligible for the same financial aid and university resources as any TTUHSC student. Some fees are waived due to the distance education aspect of this program so tuition and fees are less than many other traditional programs. Out-of-state students pay a distance learning fee and do not pay out-of-state tuition as outlined in the TTUHSC catalog.

Students may transfer approved community college or university credits into the program (42 hours required Texas common core credits approved technical credits) and complete the 120 hour requirement for a bachelor's degree through the professional option or the executive option.

Students enrolled in the BSHM program are required to complete the final six (6) academic hours through BSHM program courses. Exceptions to this policy may be considered by the Program’s Director on a case by case basis.

These requirements differ from state to state, with requirements being more rigorous and expensive in some states than others. TTUHSC SHP is currently working to gain authorization to offer online courses in all states.
