Undergraduate to Medical School Initiative

Dear Prospective Student:

Thank you for your interest in applying to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine - Undergraduate to Medical School Initiative (UMSI) program. UMSI provides an excellent opportunity for students who are aspiring to become physicians. This program will no doubt be challenging. However, the program should prove to be an extremely rewarding experience. If selected, this will be an experience that will grant you unparalleled academic foresight into the life of a medical student and medical practice through experiences such as physician shadowing and student mentoring. Before proceeding, please make sure that you have read and understand the instructions, criteria, and eligibility requirements on the preceding UMSI web site.

Prior application to the Texas Tech Undergraduate Program and Honors College is required to apply for the selection process for UMSI at the School of Medicine. Acceptance to TTU/Honors College is required for acceptance into the UMSI program. Your completed application will be submitted electronically. Once your application has been submitted a signature page is required to be printed, signed and mailed with a $50.00 application fee, (non-refundable). Your online application to the School of Medicine will not be processed until the Office of Admissions has received payment. The application fee must be received by December 1.
