Banner Training for Student Information System
Both Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center are making every effort to provide you with the needed support to assist you in the Banner Student System.
In this effort, most of the Banner Student Training resources are migrating to the AFISM web site, where you will register for classes, locate training materials and resources, and have access to a knowledge base.

Course Descriptions
Self-Service Portal: One Hour. Some of your day to day duties in viewing student information will be done through the Self-Service system. Self-Service is used to view students addresses and phone numbers; add/drop classes; student schedule; test scores; holds and academic transcripts. You can also view offered classes and course catalog. Faculty members will be able to view their class lists, syllabus information, and office hours.
Banner Basics: This course is for employees whose job responsibilities include admissions, placing holds, and building sections. Access to the banner information system will be provided after completing this training.
Banner Student Intermediate: This course is designed for those who have already completed Banner Basics in a previous training. Topics covered will be FERPA, Quick review of navigation fundamentals, overview of the Self-Service Portal.
WOAHOLD: One Hour. Do you place and remove academic holds? This training is geared towards those who have already completed the Banner Basics and Navigation and need to learn how to place and remove your department holds.
Scheduler Training: Three Hours. This is a 2-part training sessions for employees who will be building course sections for the department and for those IT support staff that would need to know how the process works. Attendees are encouraged to bring any course materials to build sections during the workshop portion of this training.
