Area of Work: Genomics of Type 2 Diabetes, Obesity and Cardiovascular Diseases; Metabolic syndrome; Oxidative stress, Mitochondrial dysfunctions in Diabetes/Obesity and Therapeutics. 
About: I did my B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Hons. School) in Biochemistry from Panjab University, Chandigarh India.  After the completion of my Ph.D. in Biotechnology, I was then appointed as an Assistant Professor in Biotechnology at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Chandigarh (affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh).  Apart from regular teaching at undergraduate and post=graduate levels I was actively engaged in research on pesticide toxicity, oxidative stress and genomics of type 2 diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular diseases.  I have guided and supervised the research work of >20 Master's and three Ph.D. students.

I am a recipient of many prestigious awards such as CSIR-JRF, ICMR-JRF, UGC Research Award and Raman Post-doctoral Research Fellowship in USA.  During my career, I have attended various faculty development programs, published 16 research papers in reputed national and international journals.  I am also a reviewer of many international journals such as Journal of Diabetes and Complications, Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, Journal of Diabetes and Metabolism, etc.  I am also a Guest Editor of a special tissue to be published in the Frontiers of Chemistry.

Currently, I am focusing my research in the area of mitochondrial dysfunction in Obesity/Diabetes and drug-discovery user the esteemed guidance of Professor P. Hemachandra Reddy, a renowned scientist in the field of neurodegenerative/metabolic orders.
