MedHub is a web-based Residency Management System designed to track and document a variety of program and resident activities for scheduling, curricula delivery and evaluations, which are required for program and institutional accreditation.
NPI Enrollment - Any house staff who has not previously been issued an NPI number will obtain one here.
IHI - Institute for Healthcare Improvement
Texas Prescription Monitoring Program- monitors outpatient prescription data for controlled substances dispensed by a pharmacy in Texas. It is a patient care tool that can be used to inform prescribing practice and to address prescription drug misuse, diversion, and overdose.
TMHP (Texas Medical and Health Partnership)- providers who have obtained full Texas licensure will be required by federal law to enroll in Texas Medicaid.

FCVS - Federation Credentialing Verification Service
FSMB - Federation of State Medical Boards Directory - Established to provide a centralized, uniform process for state medical boards as well as private and governmental entities to obtain a verified, primary source record of a physician's core medical credentials. FCVS obtains primary source verification of medical education, postgraduate training, licensure examination history, board action history, board certification and identity.

PECOS/CMS Enrollment
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) require physicians who prescribe,
order, and refer for Medicare-covered home health service and supplies, to enroll
in the Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS).
All new house staff holding either a PIT or permanent Texas licensure must be enrolled as a Medicare provider here.
PERMANENT LICENSURE IN TEXAS
Residents and fellows who obtain their own permanent Texas licensure are required
to apply for their own DEA certification and to enroll in Texas Medicaid and Healthcare
Partnership (TMHP). There are no exceptions. See SOM OP 50.18

TMHP (Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Parternership) - Individual providers who are not currently enrolled in Texas Medicaid and whose only relationship with Texas Medicaid is to order or refer for supplies or services for Texas Medicaid-eligible clients must enroll in Texas Medicaid as participating providers. This requirement is in accordance with provisions of the Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA), 42 CFR §455.410(b), which requires all fee-for-service (FFS) and managed care network ordering or referring physicians or other professionals who order or refer for supplies or services under the Medicaid State plan, or under a waiver of the plan, to enroll in Medicaid as participating providers.

The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993
The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 is a United States labor law requiring covered employers to provide employees with job-protected, unpaid leave for qualified medical and family reasons.
The Office of Graduate Medical Education requires all residents/fellows who are going to be out for a qualifying event, to submit the appropriate form and documents to the GME office.
Examples of leave under FMLA

- Birth of a Child and/or care for the newborn child (Birth of a child includes Maternity and Paternity leave)
- Placement with the Employee of a child for Adoption/Foster care
- Employee’s Own Serious Health Condition
- Employee’s Spouse/Child/Parent who has a Serious Health Condition
- Qualifying Military Exigency Leave for the Employee’s Spouse/Child/Parent
- Military Caregiver Leave for the Employee’s Spouse/Child/Parent

Texas Tech University System Optional Retirement Program (ORP) and Tax-Deferred Account
Program (TDA)
Eligible employees interested in the Optional Retirement Program (ORP), or employees
interested in the Tax-Deferred Account Program (TDA) should contact listed representatives
on the list of authorized companies and approved representatives concerning details of annuity contracts or custodial mutual funds accounts. Employees
may enroll with the vendor of their choice. There is no employer matching by TTUHSC.
In order to begin payroll deductions, you must register an account at My Retirement Manager website. You may make changes to your contributions at any time by logging into your account. Make sure to use your "R" number as your identification number.
