Nimat Alam, M.D.
Geriatric Clerkship Director
Dr. Nimat Alam is an Assistant Professor and Geriatric Clerkship Director within the
Department of Family and Community Medicine. She received her medical degree from
the Bangladesh Medical College in Dhaka in Bangladesh. She completed her Family Medicine
Residency training at Texas Tech University Health Science Center-Permian Basin located
in Odessa, TX in 2012. Dr. Alam also completed Fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine
at Texas Tech University Health Science Center - Permian Basin in 2013.
Dr. Alam is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Geriatrics
Society, American Academy of Family Physicians and Texas Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Alam is actively involved in the Residency program and the 4th year medical student
education in Geriatrics. Her special interests include geriatrics, as well as medical
student, resident and fellow education.
