Welcome! The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology welcomes you to Texas Tech Health Center! We have anticipated your arrival for some time now. We hope to make your clerkship rotation a very rewarding experience to us all.
Jan Glidwell will meet with you and provide you with further instructions as well as answers to any questions you may have. I will set up some time to clear any doubts. On your first day the students on call will be expected to cover L&D starting at 5:00 PM. During your stay in our department, you will be scheduled to have on call days, which will include Saturday 8:00 AM until Sunday 8:00 AM and Sunday 8:00 AM until Sunday 10:00 PM.
You will receive a rotation schedule that outlines where your specific rotation assignments will be for the next six weeks as well as the exposure time in each rotation. You will be evaluated and will also have the opportunity to evaluate our faculty and residents.
I encourage you to be involved in all aspects of patient care and ask all pertinent questions regarding their management. This will allow you to become familiar with the tremendous amount of information pertaining to Obstetrics and Gynecology.
