Obstetrics and Gynecology
Welcome to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at the Permian Basin Obstetrics
and Gynecology Residency Program.
We participate and accept applications only through the ERAS (Electronic Residency
Application Service). All applications must be complete and received no later than
December 31. Early submission is recommended.
Three positions are available at the first year level for applicants from accredited
medical schools. The Residency Program Director or Assistant Program Director screens
all applications. Potential candidates are invited for interviews between November
and February. The residents and faculty participate in the interview process and rank
the applicants. The order is submitted to the NRMP.
A complete application includes the following:
- ERAS application
- Medical School Transcript
- Deans Letter
- Three letters of recommendation (if previous residency training, letter from program
- Curriculum Vitae
- Personal Statement
- USMLE Step 1 and 2 (if taken) passed within 2 attempts
The COMPLEX can be substituted for the USMLE. All PGY-1s must pass Step 2 before the
end of their first year, and all PGY-2s must pass Step 3 before the end of their second
year in order to be promoted to the next level.
- No U.S. clinical experience required;
- No minimum score required;
- No time limit to years out of medical school.
