    As the son of a family physician and being raised in the Texas Panhandle, Dr. Hampton has a unique perspective on caring for the people of West Texas.  From his 13 years of private practice experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology, he understands the importance of accessible high quality patient care.  In his 12 years of academic medicine, he has been involved extensively in teaching medical students and residents and has been recognized as an accomplished educator.  His goal at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at the Permian Basin is to develop a community based Residency Program that provides the highest quality patient care in an academically oriented environment.  His areas of interest include teen pregnancy and contraception, pelvic organ prolapse, and menopause management.

    Dr. Beale, after beginning practice in the Indian Health Service, has concentrated primarily on the care of indigent and under-served women in the Southwest.  More recently, he was Ob/Gyn faculty for the Family Medicine Residency program in Roswell, New Mexico, preparing Family Medicine Residents for service in rural and under-served areas.  His areas of interest are general and high risk Obstetrics, clinical and outpatient Gynecology, and providing quality care to under-served patients, as well as Resident and Medical Student teaching.  Other areas of interest outside direct patient care revolve around Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance in hospital departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

    Early in her medical career Dr. Bergquist became interested in helping women find solutions to their health problems, especially those impacting child-bearing.  After her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University in Montreal, she completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.  Dr. Bergquist was one of the founding faculty members in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology which began providing Women's Health Care in Odessa and the Permian Basin in October 1983.  The Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology was approved in 1988 and Dr. Bergquist became the Regional Chairman and Program Director and served in that capacity until August 2000.  Still active, though part-time, member of the faculty she continues to provide women's preventive health care, with special interests in infertility evaluation as well as menopause management and diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis.  Teaching medical students and residents provides a unique opportunity to share her knowledge and philosophy of the practice of medicine with those who will be the health care leaders of tomorrow.

    Jenatta Freeman, M.D. joined the Texas Tech community in 2001 as a resident in the Odessa, Texas Obstetrics and Gynecology program.  She is originally from Alabama but considers Texas her second home.  Her undergraduate training in Zoology was completed at Alabama A&M University in Normal, Alabama.  She went on to pursue her medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee.  She has a simple philosophy about life and patient care.  "Treat everyone as you want to be treated."  She feels her friendly, professional personality allows patients to quickly become comfortable with her.  She strongly believes that patients are partners in their health care so she spends the necessary time educating them so they can help her provide better care.  She loves her profession and life-long learning.  She feels that the Permian Basin has some of the best patients she has had the pleasure of caring for and hopes to continue to do so.

    Irvin J. Reiner, M.D. joined the faculty of Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1998 after a 38 year career in the private practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Houston, Texas.  A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, he is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and received his post graduate specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Charity Hospital of Louisiana in New Orleans after completing a tour of duty as an Air Force Flight Surgeon at RAF Station Woodbridge, England.  Dr. Reiner has had publications in both scientific and non-scientific literature.  He has lectured in the Middle East and Far East on topics in operative gynecology.  Dr. Reiner claims that one of the accomplishments of being in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology for so many years is that he "has delivered babies for the babies he has delivered."  In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Reiner has been active in the affairs of the Texas Medical Association and currently is the President of the Ector County Medical Society.
