Dr. Zafar joined Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center-Permian Basin as an assistant professor in psychiatry November 2016. He is Board Certified in General Adult Psychiatry.

Dr. Zafar graduated from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan. He worked in the United Kingdom where he received a degree in MRCPsych from the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He completed his residency in General Adult Psychiatry at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. Upon completing residency, he continued at Drexel University where he completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2016.

Dr. Zafar is an active member of the American Medical Association (AMA), American Psychiatric Association (APA), and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychaitrists (AACAP).

Dr. Zafar has a special interest in treating ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, Mood Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, PTSD and Anxiety Disorders. He is also has academic interests such as teaching medical students, residents and fellows.
