Charities Spring 2012

We are proud to be supporting the following charities for our Spring 2012 festivities:

UMC Children’s Hospital/Children’s Miracle Network

The UMC Children’s Hospital is a proud partner of Children’s Miracle Network. Through this partnership, UMC and CMN have been able to provide state-of-the-art medical equipment and comprehensive services to the children of the South Plains and Eastern New Mexico for over 27 years. The UMC Children’s Hospital is the only Children’s Burn Intensive Care Unit in the region and leads the area in trauma services. They also have a 40 bed Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. 100% of the funds raised will stay local.

Family Promise

Lubbock Interfaith Hospitality Network, a nonprofit, non-denominational, volunteer-based organization, opened its doors in the fall of 1998 reaching out to homeless families with children. In early 2006 Lubbock Interfaith Hospitality Network changed its name to Family Promise. Our new name, "Family Promise", consists of two simple words that deliver a powerful message of hope. It is a pledge of our commitment to help families with children achieve stability and self-sufficiency.

Family Promise partners with religious congregations, community organizations and local social service organizations to help families achieve sustainable independence. We are one of more than 112 local, autonomous Family Promise affiliates operating in 36 states; we are linked by membership to the National Family Promise. Family Promise has been selected to represent American Volunteerism for three consecutive years in a special project, jointly sponsored by the United States Information Agency and the Points of Light Foundation, involving visitors from ten foreign countries.
