Institute of Anatomical Sciences Facilities

The Institute of Anatomical Sciences includes interdisciplinary lab and learning resource facilities aimed at supporting human anatomy instruction and clinical skill acquisition. The space was designed and built from the ground up with function in mind. Lab spaces are equipped with the necessary technology to maximize resource navigation and collaborative learning. 

The Institute of Anatomical Sciences includes a variety of spaces that are available for reservation including staff support when necessary.

  • One- Human Gross Anatomy Lab I (Large)– 56 dissection tanks
  • One- Human Gross Anatomy Lab III (Medium)- 14 dissection tanks
  • Two- Educational Anatomy Labs- 3-4 dissection tanks
  • One- Surgical/Clinical Skills Lab- 2 operating stations
  • One- Imaging Lab- 2 full cross section cadaver specimens; digital image access
  • One- Model Room- models available for check out
  • One- Clinical Anatomical Research Laboratory (CARL)- 3-4 tanks/tables

Reserving Lab Facilities

Institute of Anatomical Sciences facilities may be reserved for use by internal or external groups. Internal events include TTUHSC courses or educational programs, research projects, clinical simulation, etc. External events include outside entities or educational programs. TTUHSC events will take scheduling priority over external events.  

Hourly lab use charges apply, as do additional charges for special requests such as specimen preparations. Our staff can provide cadaveric specimens for your lab session, as well as staffing and consultation services. Please note, advanced notice of the need for these services is paramount in order for us to meet your needs efficiently and effectively.
