Katie Corkill, MD, FAAFP
Clinical Assistant Professor, Dept of Psychiatry

Katie Corkill, MD, FAAFP, is an Assistant Professor and Associate Program Director for Texas Tech
University Health Science Center Permian Basin Family Medicine. A graduate of UT Health Long School
of Medicine, she completed her residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center Permian Basin.
Dr. Corkill is dedicated to fostering the next generation of family physicians, with a particular emphasis
on resident training in leadership, project development, and wellness. Her commitment to curriculum
development ensures residents receive a comprehensive and innovative educational experience, while
her focus on compassionate patient care underscores her dedication to serving the community.

Marenda Dent, DO
Clinical Assistant Professor, Dept of Psychiatry

Dr. Marenda Dent received her medical degree from TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Dr. Marenda D. Dent has expertise in treating diabetes, gastroenteritis, hypertension, among other conditions.

Ikemefuna Okwuwa, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor, Dept of Psychiatry

Ikemefuna “Ike” Okwuwa, MD, FAAFP, completed his residency training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center of the Permian Basin, where he remained as faculty and currently serves as the program director of the residency program. He completed a faculty development fellowship at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. Under his leadership, the residency program has expanded significantly and now trains a total of 69 residents across 8 counties in the Permian Basin, including Southeast New Mexico.

Ramachandra Chemitiganti, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor, Dept of Psychiatry

Dr. Ramachandra Chemitiganti, MD, is a distinguished endocrinologist specializing in diabetes and metabolism, practicing in Odessa and Midland, Texas. He earned his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College in 1998 and completed his residency in internal medicine at Mount Vernon Hospital in 2006. Dr. Chemitiganti furthered his expertise with a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in the Permian Basin from 2013 to 2015. He is board-certified in both internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. In his clinical practice, Dr. Chemitiganti is affiliated with Medical Center Hospital in Odessa and Texas Tech Physicians in Midland. Beyond patient care, he leads the Center of Excellence for Diabetes and Endocrinology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, focusing on enhancing access to quality care for individuals with diabetes and hormonal disorders in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. His research interests include identifying mechanisms to prevent and delay diabetes and its complications, as well as examining racial and ethnic differences in treatment responses to novel anti-diabetes and anti-obesity medications. Dr. Chemitiganti has received multiple awards for his contributions to education and research, including the "Dean's Distinguished Faculty Service Award" in 2022 and induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in 2022.

Sai Siva Mungara, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor, Dept of Psychiatry

Dr. Sai Siva Mungara, MD, is a board-certified internist practicing in Odessa, Texas. She earned her medical degree from Narayana Medical College in India in 2008 and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center. Dr. Mungara is affiliated with Medical Center Health System in Odessa and is accepting new patients. She has been in practice for over 11 years and has expertise in treating diabetes. Additionally, Dr. Mungara serves as the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Odessa, where she focuses on internal and lifestyle medicine.

Dr. Rahul Sinha is board-certified in Child Neurology and Pediatrics. He attended medical school at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania, European Union. He completed his Pediatric residency training at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York and Child Neurology training at Duke University Medical Center, Duke University in North Carolina. He also received a Master of Public Health from Hofstra University, New York, USA.

Dr. Sinha is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, Child Neurology Society, and International Child Neurology Association, and many more. Dr. Sinha has received numerous awards and honors. He also contributed to several publications in peerreviewed journals and newspapers. During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports, reading books, yoga, meditation, and walking in the park.

Dr. James E. Butler, MD, PhD, serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Oceans Healthcare, a nationally recognized provider of behavioral health services with 33 locations in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. He is a practicing psychiatrist with over a decade of experience in psychiatry and medical genetics, bringing leading-edge thinking about the role of genetics in the development of mental health challenges. Dr. Butler received doctorate degrees in molecular genetics and medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed research fellowships at Harvard University's Howard Hughes Medical Institute and UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Prior to his current role, he served as regional medical director at Oceans, providing oversight for patient care teams and high-quality improvement efforts for the company's Texas locations.

Dr. Barbara Ann Beadles, MD, is a seasoned psychiatrist with over 27 years of experience in the medical field. She earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1998. Dr. Beadles completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, followed by a residency in Psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She further specialized by completing a Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of California, Davis, in 2007. Throughout her career, Dr. Beadles has held various positions, including serving as a staff physician and medical director of a student health clinic during her tenure in the United States Air Force. She has also been affiliated with institutions such as the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. In Texas, Dr. Beadles has been associated with facilities like Big Spring State Hospital and Montford Psychiatric Facility.
