The concept for expanding the TTUHSC pharmacy program into Abilene first came about in 2004 when a group of community and private organizations approached Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy with a vision to offer four-year pharmacy education and research to their community and region.
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board approved the expansion in January 2006 and the school began making plans for extending its Pharm.D. and Post-Graduate Pharmacy Education programs into the Texas Big Country. Since that time, a 40,000 square-foot campus has been constructed and classes began in August 2007.
The Abilene regional campus supports all four years of the Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy's Pharm.D. program. It enrolls 40 new students each academic year and increased the Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy's total class sizes from 90 students to 130.

Randi King is our Assistant Director located on our Abilene campus. She has been with the Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy since 2007, and took great joy in seeing the first class from the Abilene campus graduate in 2011. In addition to working with our students, preceptors, and sites for both IPPE and APPE clerkships in the Abilene area she serves as the main point of contact for CORE, our rotation management software system. Away from the office Randi enjoys traveling with her family, photography, and being an avid sports fan (Go Rangers!).
Becca Arredondo is the Experiential Coordinator at the Abilene campus. Erica assists with IPPE/APPE rotation maintenance which includes pre-rotation paperwork, site visits, health fairs and volunteer services. Becca will be working alongside Randi King to serve our students, faculty and adjunct faculty in the Abilene area to meet their Experiential Rotation needs. Becca was born and raised in Abilene, Texas and has worked for TTUHSC since June of 2016 in Institutional Advancement and the School of Pharmacy Department of Immunotherapeutics and Biotechnology.
