University Physicians - Obstetrics & Gynecology

The University Physicians of Texas Tech Amarillo is a multispecialty group of approximately 50 physicians providing services in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, psychiatry and obstetrics/gynecology. The group sees more than 100,000 patients per year, including many from the Oklahoma Panhandle, Eastern New Mexico and Colorado.

The department of Family Medicine's ambulatory clinic called the Center for Family Medicine is located in Baptist-St. Anthony's Hospital at 1600 Wallace Blvd. This faculty practice provides primary care for the entire family from newborn to elderly.

The departments of Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Obstetrics/Gynecology are located at 1400 Coulter Street. The department of Psychiatry sees patients in the School of Medicine facility located at 1400 Wallace Blvd.

The department of Obstetrics/Gynecology faculty have developed a full service University Women's Health Center. Services include osteoporosis screening, reproductive services, general gynecology/oncology and breast cancer screening. Faculty have expertise in high risk pregnancy, infertility counseling and treatment, urodynamic testing, incontinence management and nutritional services.

The faculty of the department of Pediatrics have a joint collaborative effort to provide pediatric specialty services to the Panhandle and the entire region. Texas Tech faculty include specialists in neonatology, cardiology, gastroentology, infectious diseases, adolescent medicine, development, medical genetics and hematology/oncology. General pediatricians provide primary care to outpatients and hospitalized patients at both Northwest Texas Hospital and Baptist-St. Anthony's Hospital.

The faculty of the department of Surgery provides general surgical care, trauma and critical care services, laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery, basic pediatric surgery and surgical oncology. The trauma program, based at NWTH, is highly respected in the community.

Faculty of the department of Internal Medicine have developed one of the finest general internal medicine groups in the community. Particular expertise is available in areas such as hypertension, diabetes, kidney disease, pulmonary diseases and preventive medicine.

The department of Psychiatry's clinical services include counseling and psychotherapy. Faculty are active in providing community programs and providing assessment and consultations within the group and for professionals in the community.

The University Physicians of Texas Tech have been pleased with a recent patient satisfaction survey showing a greater than 95% satisfaction rate among our patients. We continue to strive to improve efficiency and provide the most compassionate and skilled care.
