Amarillo Alzheimer's Academy
Enabling caregivers with information and services to provide fulfilling and dignified lives for victims of Alzheimer's Disease.
Founded in 2003, the Amarillo Alzheimer's Academy is a collective effort of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Schools of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Area Agency on Aging of the Panhandle.
The Alzheimer's Academy services include:
- Free consultation with a physician ( geriatrician.)
- Medication review by a specialty trained geriatric pharmacist upon request.
- "Lunch and Learns" or "Dinner and Discussion" free of charge.
- Home Safety Check.
- Referrals to area resources and Area Agency on Aging programs.
- Assistance obtaining medical care.

- AAA offers benefits counseling, care giver respite, care giver resources and support group, educational workshops and much more.
