We start interviews October 1st to December 15th

How can I apply to your program?

Applications should be submitted through ERAS. Also see link to Residency Information and Pediatric Requirements.

Do you offer a transitional year (PGY-1) with your program?

No.

How many positions are you offering through the match this year?

Do you have a cut-off for USMLE scores to consider the application?

We require residency applicants to have USMLE scores 82 or higher on all Steps.  Passage must be within the final three attempts.

Does the program require USMLE Step 2 to be completed by a certain date to be considered as an applicant?

USMLE Step 2 must be completed prior to the match.

Does your program accept international medical graduates (IMG’s)?

Yes.

What types of visas do you sponsor?

We sponsor green card and J-1 Visa's only.

How many call days are residents required to take each month?

Call days are as follows:
PGY-1*      4-5 nights per month
PGY-2&3  float rotations and 12-16 additional calls per year

*This is an approximation determined by who is in the program at the given time.

Do you require or strongly encourage research?

Research is not required but strongly encouraged.

Do you require any clinical experience?

No, we do not.

What electives are offered?

Adolescent Behavior, Endocrinology (offered in Lubbock), Behavior Development (offered in Lubbock), Hematology & Oncology, Gastroenterology, Genetics, Pulmonary, Cardiology, Dermatology, Pediatric Intensive Care (2 rotations required), Pediatric Radiology, Pediatric Neonatology (2 rotations required).  Other rotations may be offered with the Program Director's approval.
