Dear prospective candidate,

Educating physicians is one of the primary goals of the Department of Anesthesiology. The Department of Anesthesiology has developed a multidisciplinary course of study to train physicians in some of the most state-of-the art techniques for anesthesiology and pain control through its pain fellowship program.

The fellowship program is, to a large extent, evaluation and management of complex pain problems by a multi-disciplinary team. The program trains candidates to be qualified in pain management by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine. Historically, fellows have performed well in the examination process to become board certified and have secured excellent positions after completion of fellowship training at TTUHSC.

Training is available in common and advanced interventional techniques such as radiofrequency, cryoneurolysis, neuroaugmentation in the form of spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation and the use of spinal analgesics, continuous epidural infusion, and peripheral nerve infusions.  Behavioral management, pharmacological management, rehabilitative management, and cancer pain management are also encompassed in the program.

If you have any questions please feel free to write or call us.  We look forward to hearing from you.
