Welcome to the Reddy Laboratory
P. Hemachandra Reddy, Ph.D., came to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in October 2014 and has initiated three research units - 1) the Drug Discovery, 2) Biomarker Development and 3) the Molecular Basis.
Dr. Reddy also initiated several scholarly activities, including Alzheimer’s disease Research Seminar Series, Aging and Alzheimer’s disease Journal Club, Public Health Journal Club and Students and Visiting Scholars Program. To inspire residents for research and scholarly activities at School of Medicine, he recently initiated Residents Research Program.
For the last twenty years, Reddy lab has been involved with research on Healthy Aging, Dementia and other Neurodegenerative diseases, including Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, and Multiple Sclerosis. In addition, Reddy group is actively working on chronic conditions such as Diabetes, Obesity, Cardiovascular, Kidney, Stroke, Vascular Dementia and other factors that are associated with Dementia.
Diversity
Dr. Reddy and his colleagues recognize that scientific and biomedical discoveries do not take place in isolation from society. He strongly believes his lab research outcome will be useful to communities in US and across the globe. Past and current events have led us to take an active stance in examining how research in academia at large and the Reddy lab in particular can create a more equitable society without discrimination of sex and race.
