Texas Tech School of Pharmacy: Our Mission

Welcome to the Office of Curricular Affairs. The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy program provides a robust and innovative curriculum that prepares new professionals to step into growing and changing professional roles. TTUHSC graduates are sought after by employers who often cite excellent preparedness in the clinical skills of our graduates.

Texas Tech School of Pharmacy: Our Philosophy

The philosophy behind the school’s curricular structure and its delivery is framed by the end result the curriculum intends to produce: adaptable, lifelong learning, critical thinking and problem solving skills, and development of a competitive advantage as we step into the ever-changing roles of the pharmacist in contemporary practice. Elements of the curriculum are designed with the welfare and safety of the public in mind—the public that our graduates will serve with integrity. For this reason, the faculty have adopted Programmatic Educational Outcomes derived from the 2013 CAPE Outcomes. We have designed a rigorous academic program that begins with a strong foundation in basic science, employs a variety of instructional methods, and incorporates required experiences with special populations including Geriatrics, Pediatrics, and rural practice. Providing more experiential learning hours than most other schools of pharmacy in Texas—or even in the nation—our program is dedicated to helping our graduates provide the future with superior health care.
