International SOS
TTUHSC has a membership with International SOS , the world’s leading medical and travel security assistance company, providing our students who participate in an international program or activity access to a full range of preparatory, advisory, and assistance services.
Membership Benefits
TTUHSC students are required to complete a pre-travel briefing with International SOS (ISOS) during the pre-departure process. The pre-travel briefing is designed to provide country-specific information regarding health, safety, and security.
In addition, by logging onto the ISOS website using the TTUHSC Member number, students can sign up for health and security email alerts and review valuable, comprehensive, and timely country-specific information.
If students find themselves in need of immediate assistance, they can contact International SOS at 1-215-942-8226 or toll free at 1-800-523-8930. Collect calls are accepted if needed.
ISOS serves as the initial point of contact for TTUHSC students aboard and will assist students as needed while notifying OGH of any additional services that may be required.
In addition to serving as the initial point of contact, ISOS can answer any general medical or security concerns and, if needed, help to locate a qualified health care provider or replace a prescription.
And don't forget, ISOS has an assistance app that can be download prior to travel abroad. It's full of helpful information, and it will send safety and security notifications while students are abroad.
Students should always contact ISOS in the event of a medical or security emergency. ISOS serves as the initial point of contact for TTUHSC students while abroad and is available to ensure students get connected to the services they need as quickly as possible.
If the emergency is security related, ISOS can assist with formulating a plan of action and direct students to whatever security services are needed, including assisting with lost documents.
If the emergency is medically related, ISOS can closely monitor a student's condition with local doctors and assist the TTUHSC international health/medical evacuation provider in providing immediate care, whether it requires evacuating students to a center of medical excellence or relocating them to a safe haven (as approved by TTUHSC). ISOS can also assist with refilling any prescriptions needed.
Membership Card
When students are abroad, they should always carry the International SOS membership card along with a copy of the international health/medical evacuation insurance card and the wallet card provided by OGH. The ISOS membership card includes TTUHSC's membership number and phone numbers to International SOS call centers. ISOS call centers are available 24/7/365 to assist with any travel, medical, and security needs.
