Learning Management System Implementation
Overview
After a thorough review process, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) has selected D2L Brightspace as our institution's new Learning Management System (LMS). Over the next 12 to 18 months, TTUHSC will begin migrating from the current LMS systems to D2L Brightspace.
TTUHSC embarked on a collective search for a single LMS, aiming to enhance our ability to collaborate across schools and programs, integrate curriculum, and provide a contemporary experience for our learners. The decision to transition to D2L Brightspace was not a solitary one but a result of a meticulous 12-month evaluation of various learning management systems. Input from team members and learners across different course modalities, including traditional, online, and hybrid formats, was pivotal in shaping this selection.
D2L Brightspace is a new system for TTUHSC and a gateway to a more enriched learning experience. Its user-friendly interface, robust collaborative tools, ability to meet accessibility standards, and advanced assessment and analytics capabilities make it an ideal platform to support teaching and learning activities at TTUHSC, promising a future of enhanced educational opportunities.
Over the next 12 to 18 months, TTUHSC will begin migrating from the current LMS systems to D2L Brightspace. Dr. Wade Redman, Acting Assistant Provost of Digital Learning, will lead the implementation process for the Office of the Provost, Division of Academic Affairs & Integrated Learning. The duration of this transition period will vary depending on the specific needs of our learners, programs, schools, and the university as a whole. Rest assured, we are committed to ensuring a smooth and seamless transition for all community members.
In the coming months, this website will provide additional information, timelines, and training resources to support the adoption of D2L Brightspace. These resources will be tailored to meet the diverse needs of team members and learners across our institution.
