Scholarships

Students from all campuses, excluding Permian Basin, should use the scholarship application link under the “General Scholarship Application” tab to apply for the general scholarships available during April, July, and November. Remember, you can apply only once during a financial aid year, the year starting over when the April application opens. The same application will be used each semester thereafter until the next financial aid year.

  • Permian Basin students should access the scholarship application under the “Odessa General Scholarship Application”.
  • Campus specific scholarship application links will be used for scholarships available only to that particular campus. Not all campuses have campus specific scholarships.

    Dear Scholarship Committee:

I am writing to thank you for selecting me as an Undergraduate Resident Scholarship recipient. I was very excited to learn that I was selected as a recipient from so many applicants.

As an undergraduate nursing student, I plan to pursue further studies as a nurse practitioner upon graduating from the TTUHSC School of Nursing. I am currently starting my last semester and plan to graduate in May. Thanks to you, I am one-step closer to achieving my dreams.

By awarding me this scholarship, you have allowed me to focus on my studies by decreasing my financial hardship. Your generosity is an inspiration to me. It is my hope that I too can one day help others in the way that you have helped me.

    Sincerely,

    Dear Mrs. Leach:

My name is                                and I am a 2009 recipient of the Rubye A Leach Nursing Scholarship. I am honored to receive this scholarship in your name and am grateful for the opportunity this has provided to me.

Since finishing my bachelor’s degree in nursing, I have known that eventually I would like to obtain my master’s degree and I am excited to now be enrolled in the MSN-Acute care Nurse Practitioner program. After completing my first semester, I know that this program will help me become a better nurse at an advanced practice level. One of my nursing goals is to make healthcare more accessible for persons of all income levels, and practicing at an advanced level will help me accomplish this.

Without a doubt, this scholarship will play a key role in achieving my education dreams. Because of your generosity, the financial burden placed on my to pursue my education while working full time will be reduced. That means I can better balance my time between my duties at work and my studies.

Thank you for your support and your investment in the TTUHSC School of Nursing and the futures of students like me.

    Sincerely,
