Congratulations to Elizabeth Tombs, MSN, RN, CNM, IBCLC for being selected as March’s Member of the Month! Elizabeth bleeds red and black with her BSN, MSN, and Post-Masters Nurse Midwifery certification all from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She is an Assistant Professor in the TTUHSC School of Nursing and also works at Midwife Cottage LLC. Elizabeth has received numerous awards throughout her career! She enjoys “everything” about being a nurse; however, if naming one, she loves witnessing the miracle of birth and strength of families.

Elizabeth’s research interests are in the areas of breastfeeding and interprofessional education. Her work has been published in Health Communication and she has numerous presentations. Elizabeth seeks to overcome barriers in interprofessional education and enhance online learning experiences to provide rich learning. In the clinical arena, Elizabeth desires to expand opportunity on the South Plains for midwives and hopes to bring the first Birth Center to Lubbock with her midwife colleagues. Elizabeth enjoys walks with her husband and GoogleChat with her children living out of state. Elizabeth soon hopes to have a favorite TV show; however, her favorite movies are Sound of Music, Pride and Prejudice, and Anne of Green Gables. Elizabeth, thank you for desiring excellence in nursing!
