2023 PCOA Update

The PCOA is a national exam developed and administered by National Association of Board of Pharmacy (NABP). The 2023 PCOA will be offered with online proctoring.

Pharmacy Curriculum Outcomes Assessment (PCOA): The PCOA is a key evaluation of student learning during each year of the curriculum. It provides students with individual performance measures. The exam is used as a gauge of the School of Pharmacy’s performance compared to other schools of pharmacy. This assessment is created by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. PCOA is a mandatory exam for all P3 and P4 students at the TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy.

November 11, 2022: Students Seeking a Testing Accommodation Must Submit an Accommodation Request by This Date

NABP abides by all applicable federal and state regulations relating to the testing of eligible individuals under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and amendments (ADAA). NABP will review each accommodation request and will approve or deny the request.

To submit an accommodation request, the student MUST take the following steps:

  1. Download the Testing Accommodations Request Form.
  2. Complete Part I (Candidate Statement, including detailed written summary of disability). Note: Please attach a detailed written summary that describes your disability, support for the requested accommodation(s), and current treatment/therapy prescribed or recommended for the disability (e.g., medication regiment, physical aids).
  3. Have your practitioner complete Part II (Practitioner Statement, including practitioner's supporting written summary[ies]). Note: Please make sure your practitioner provides documentation specified in I, II, and III on the form.
  4. Submit the form to Student Disability Services (email: Tamara.Mancini@ttuhsc.edu), who will complete Part III (Academic, Institution, School, or College Statement).
  5. Submit the completed form and supporting documents to the Office of Assessment (email: Sonya.E.Sherrod@ttuhsc.edu), who will submit the completed forms to NABP for final review.

Note: The student is responsible for timely submitting a completed Testing Accommodations Request form along with supporting documents to the Office of Assessment.
