Class of 2026 Campus Assignment Request
Please be aware of the following regarding the initial clinical campus assignment process:
- The Student Affairs Committee (SAC) is responsible for finalizing incoming students' clinical campus assignments.
- Every effort is made to assign students to their preferred clinical campuses. We typically receive, however, MANY more requests for initial assignment to a Lubbock based clinical campus than there are spaces available (due to per campus limits).
- Initial clinical campus assignment for an over requested campus is done by random lottery (based on a student's indicated preference to be placed at the over requested clinical campus).
- Situations given priority consideration for assignment to a specific clinical campus
include:
- Non-temporary employment of a spouse or partner:
- Spouse or partner enrolled in an educational program that requires in-person attendance and is expected to continue into the academic year in which the student will be starting the clinical curriculum;
- Child formally enrolled in a daily childcare program or local school district during the academic year in which the student will be starting the clinical curriculum;
- Physical or mental health condition requiring ongoing care, the equivalent of which is not available at another clinical campus;
- Home purchased by student or first degree relative (e.g. spouse, parent, sibling)
before August 1 of the calendar year prior to the student's year of matriculation
into the SOM.
*Supporting documentation for any of the listed situations is expected.
**Verification of Significant Other Relationship form is additionally expected.
Supporting documents should be emailed to Jennifer Acevedo jennifer.acevedo@ttuhsc.edu - Purchasing a house following acceptance into the SOM is not a factor considered by the SAC for assignment to a specific clinical campus.
This form and the supporting documentation should be completed by May 20, 2022
