Application Process:
- Complete the PharmCAS application
- Once your PharmCAS Application is submitted and verified, you can access your supplemental application. You must pay the non-refundable $100 supplemental application fee and complete the remaining application requirements by the appropriate application deadline.
- It can take up to 14 days for your PharmCAS application to be verified. Once your application has been verified, you will then receive a link in your email to access your supplemental application.
- Prerequisites do not have to be completed prior to applying, but we prefer that your prerequisites are completed by the August prior to enrollment.
- Complete our TTUHSC PharmD Early Assurance Program form - Reserve your non-binding seat in an upcoming PharmD class while participating in our program opportunities along the way.

To apply to the program leading to a Pharm.D. degree, the applicant should:
- Access the PharmCAS on-line application
- Application opens on July 11.
- Priority Application Deadline is October 1.
- Final Application Deadline is June 1

Upon the successful completion of our program, TTUHSC School of Pharmacy will award individuals the Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm. D.), leading to sought-after opportunities and a promising career in pharmaceutical sciences. Successful candidates to the school must complete the prerequisites listed below in addition to meeting our minimum GPA requirement.
Please note: You do not have to complete the prerequisites prior to applying for admission. However, you must be on target to complete all the prerequisites by the end of the Spring semester of the year that you are applying.
We can assist you in determining which pharmacy courses you have taken fulfill our prerequisite course requirements. Pharmacy courses vary by the institution through which you received credit.

A bachelor’s degree is not required for our program, but you will be required to complete the following English and Humanities courses. If you plan on earning a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited U.S. college or university prior to enrolling in the School of Pharmacy, you will be exempt from these courses. Pre-Pharmacy Grade Point Average (PPGPA)
- Our preferred minimum pre-pharmacy grade point average (PPGPA) required for application consideration is 3.000.
- Grades below “C” are not accepted.
- if you received a grade of “C” the first time you completed organic chemistry, then repeated the course with a grade of “A”, we disregard the “C” and calculate PPGPA using the “A”. This process allows students to demonstrate competency in a course.
- When evaluating a candidate, we use their overall GPA, their pre-pharmacy GPA, and, if applicable, their composite PCAT percentage score.
Your "overall" grade point average is calculated using the following formula:
Sum of the Grade Points / Total #SCH (semester credit hours).
Your Pre-Pharmacy grade point average is calculated with the highest grade earned* for each course taken, multiplied by the number of semester credit hours (SCH), using the following scale:
A = 4.0 x #SCH = Grade Points
B = 3.0 x #SCH = Grade Points
C = 2.0 x #SCH = Grade Points
D = 1.0 x #SCH = Grade Points
F = 0.0 x #SCH = Grade Points -
During the application process

___ Send all current transcripts to PharmCAS
___ Ensure that you have at least three recommendations/evaluations in PharmCAS (pharmacy supervisors, science or math professors and pharmacy professionals preferred)
___ Send PCAT scores to PharmCAS
___ Complete required prerequisites – contact sopadmissions@ttuhsc.edu to verify any courses needed
___ Complete supplemental application and pay $100 application fee
After being offered admission
___ Accept offer by signing the Dean’s offer of admission
___ Complete Criminal Background Check (link emailed to you with your offer letter)
___ In May, complete your CPR – Basic Life Support course (must be from the American Heart Association – www.heart.org)
___ Send immunizations to cathy.garza@ttuhsc.edu & complete any missing immunizations (wait until May to complete two-step TB test)
___ Send final transcript to sopadmissions@ttuhsc.edu or to PharmCAS (do not send transcripts to TTU)
___ Register for classes when registration opens mid-June

The TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy is known as one of the nation's premier institutions for producing practice-ready pharmacists. We prepare our students to effectively serve their patients and communities by offering extensive hands-on experience, with clinical training hours exceeding those of most other pharmacy programs in the country. Our curriculum includes advanced clinical training in geriatrics, pediatrics, and rural pharmacy. For students unable to attend one of our four campuses full-time, we proudly offer the Pioneer Pathway - an innovative hybrid learning option that combines distance learning technology with in-person immersions for the didactic portion of the curriculum and provides robust hands-on clinical training.
