Students enrolled in college bachelor’s degree programs can gain hands-on laboratory training and research mentorship through several specialized pathways:
- GSBS Summer Research Internships (ABRI, BRIA, SABR): Intensive 10-week paid summer research programs in Lubbock, Amarillo, and Abilene with $4,000 stipends.
- Texas Tech University Research Partnerships: Collaborative programs including the Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS) and the Center for the Integration of STEM Education & Research (CISER).

Dr. Liang’s laboratory made a breakthrough in developing "bottle-brush" nanoantibiotics that remain active in treating patients but rapidly degrade into harmless components upon entering wastewater environments—preventing the buildup of antibiotic resistance in nature.

Student Research Week (SRW)
Student Research Week is an annual, student-organized symposium hosted by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Lubbock, Texas. The event serves as the university's premier interdisciplinary platform for showcasing graduate and professional research.
Each year, SRW features distinguished national keynote speakers, vendor expositions, and a dynamic student poster competition with participants from across Texas and neighboring states.
