Accessibility Design
Serving TTUHSC student-learner needs
While the practice of designing accessible media files aligned with ADA guidelines
serves the needs of impaired learners, an additional benefit of their implementation
is that they respond to the needs of broader audiences overall.
The types of needs that accessible design responds to are diverse. They can range
from near or far-sightedness, to color blindness, to hearing impairments, and other
similar concerns. In most cases, implementing a few simple design practices can adequately
address these and other student-learner needs. To this end, our office provides tutorials,
lectures, remote and in person-training sessions to faculty and staff, for purposes
of encouraging accessibile design for students campus-wide.
