Research Ethics in Person Conference

Our theme for this year's conference is all about getting real.  We will hear from internationally recognized experts in the responsible conduct of research, explore the real world consequences of issues like misrepresentation, fabrication, and failure to maintain adequate research records.  We will also have a chance to hear about what it's like to sit on the Institutional Review Board and how the IRB works with researchers to ensure a smooth project from conception to publication of results.   Participants will have a chance to discuss real-world issues with other researchers and expert facilitators.  Please join us in person and spend the evening in between sessions.

Topics Include

  • - Designing Research Studies
  • - What is Research?
  • - How to Avoid Research Misconduct
  • - Conflicts of Interest in Research
  • - Research with Human Subjects
  • - Ethics Issues in Genetics Research
  • - Working with the IRB
  • - Vulnerable Populations in Research
