OB Conference

Conference Summary
The Unites states is facing increasing numbers of maternal morbidity and mortality surrounding childbirth and the postpartum period. From trauma to patients who have multiple co-morbidities, this activity will discuss the most updated standards of care regarding the high-risk OB and postpartum patient and ways to be proactive in decreasing morbidity and mortality.
This conference is designed to:
* Identify how to better care for the high-risk OB patient.
* Discuss the legal aspects including medical lawsuits and board complaints, termination
of Patient/Physician relationships, and Texas laws pertaining to abortion.
* Assess interventions and identify treatment options when caring for the OB patient
experiencing maternal and postpartum hemorrhage, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy,
trauma, placenta accreta spectrum, preterm labor, and Amniotic Fluid Embolism.

Accreditation and Designation

by Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Northwest Texas Healthcare System,
and Amarillo College. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is jointly accredited
by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation
Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center
(ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

6.5 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credit for learning and change.
