Comprehensive ENT Care & Mission-Driven Surgical Training

Welcome to the Lubbock Academic Department of Otolaryngology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, a department dedicated to advancing education, clinical care, research, and innovation in the field of otolaryngology. Our faculty bring expertise across the full spectrum of ear, nose, and throat care while actively contributing to the education and development of the next generation of physicians.

Our department combines comprehensive clinical training with opportunities for scholarly investigation and academic collaboration. Since establishing its residency program in 2016, the department has continued to expand its educational and research initiatives, providing residents and medical learners with opportunities to work alongside experienced faculty in a broad range of otolaryngologic specialties.

Faculty members—including Joehassin Cordero, Joshua C. Demke, Winslo Idicula, Tam Nguyen, and Yusuf Dundar—serve as clinicians, educators, and researchers, contributing to the department's academic mission through teaching, mentorship, research, and professional scholarship. The department's clinical and academic programs encompass areas including general otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, facial reconstruction, pediatric otolaryngology, otology, cochlear implantation, and thyroid and related surgical care.

Through a growing faculty, residency education, research activity, and multidisciplinary collaboration, the Department of Otolaryngology is committed to fostering an academic environment that supports learning, discovery, and excellence in otolaryngologic medicine.
