Research Days Information
June 10-11, 2020
This annual event is a wonderful opportunity for School of Pharmacy's Faculty, Post-Doctoral Research Associates, Graduate students, Residents, and Pharm.D. students to come together from all four campuses to talk about research and build collaborations and friendships. Research Days consists of poster competitions, keynote addresses, podium presentations on current research, breakout sessions, and the annual dinner.
Administrative support for this event is handled by the Office of Sciences staff. The program schedule is handled by the Research Advisory Committee and the School of Pharmacy's Office of Sciences.

If you are presenting a poster, please fill out your abstract from the template above and submit your abstract with registration.
NOTE: We will also have an Interprofessional Education (IPE) poster category this year. See IMPORTANT INFORMATION below for more details.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
IPE abstracts need to be emailed to sopofficeofsciences@ttuhsc.edu. All other research abstracts need to be uploaded with registration.
Interprofessional Education Poster Category Criteria
In collaboration with the TTUHSC School of Pharmacy, the Office of Interprofessional Education would like to propose an IPE category for all interested students during the School of Pharmacy’s Research Days, June 11-12, 2020.
Winner will receive a monetary prize.
The purpose(s) of this Interprofessional Poster Session include:
- To increase visibility of interprofessional research and activities that are taking place at TTUHSC
- To stimulate ideas for additional interprofessional research and collaboration
- To foster improved collaboration and communication among interprofessional team members
Poster Requirements
- The poster must address and be directly related to either interprofessional education
and/or interprofessional collaborative practice, which are defined below.
- Interprofessional Education ‐ When students from two or more professions learn about, from and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes
- Interprofessional Collaborative Practice ‐ When multiple health workers from different professional backgrounds work together with patients, families, and communities to deliver the highest quality of care
- Additional Suggestions and Recommendations
- Learner or patient‐centered
- Related to the Interprofessional Education Collaborative Competences (Values and Ethics for Interprofessional Practice, Roles and Responsibilities, Interprofessional Communication, Teams and Teamwork)
- Related to TeamSTEPPS®
- Interprofessional simulation
Abstract Requirements
The abstract should align with the selected theme and not be no more than 350 words (not including items 1‐4 below). All abstracts/posters must appropriately cite sources of information.

The School Of Pharmacy (SOP) Office of Sciences will provide travel funds for all SOP faculty, students, and residents. Please see your Department Coordinators to arrange your travel.
Contact the Office of Sciences for the account number (FOP) when preparing travel applications.
NOTE: AIRFARE WILL NOT BE COVERED BY THE OFFICE OF SCIENCES.

HSC Travel Policy OP 79.06
Basic Sciences Students and Post-Docs.:
- Poster judging sessions will take place on both days of the conference (see schedule for times).
- Students and Post-Docs. will be notified in advance as to which session they will be judged.
- Each session will be 1.5 hours.
- The posters will be judged by teams of two faculty members.
- Each person will have 10 minutes to present their research with 5 minutes of questions for a total of 15 minutes.
Pharmacy Practice Residents and Pharm.D. Students:
- Professor walk-around (poster judging) will take place on both days of the conference (see schedule for times).
- Residents and Pharm.D. Students will be notified in advance as to which session they will be judged.
- Each session will be 1.5 hours
- The posters will be judged by Pharmacy Practice faculty members.
- Each person will have 5 minutes to discuss what you did and your level of participation in the project.

PLEASE NOTE: Winners will be announced at the awards program on the second day. Attendance at the awards ceremony is required in order to receive an award.
The Research Advisory Committee will evaluate all submitted abstracts and they will vote on winners to present their research during Research Days
Selected people will need to arrange a slide show in Powerpoint and provide the slide show to Office of Sciences by the deadline, June 1, 2020.
The Research Advisory Committee will choose 1 person from each category.

Posters should be submitted for printing as early as possible to avoid last minute
delays.
Everyone will be responsible for their own poster printing charges and picking up
their own posters.
