The TTUHSC School of Health Professions Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) program provides students with an academic and clinical foundation to understand and improve the communication skills of people with developmental or acquired communication disorders. Students learn and interact with faculty through a curriculum that has courses based in the areas of speech-language pathology and audiology. Our program is a stepping stone into a great career or graduate school in a variety of fields including speech-language pathology or audiology.

Curriculum

Our curriculum combines academic instruction and clinical observation experiences designed to provide you with a comprehensive foundation in the sciences of speech, language and hearing.

  • Introduction to Audiology
  • Introduction to Speech-Language Pathology
  • Language Disorders
  • Clinical Methods
  • Basic Sign Language for Health Professionals

  • A Licensed Speech-Language-Pathology Assistant (With Additional Clinical Experience Hours Not Provided Through the SLHS Program)

  • A Licensed Hearing Aid Specialist (With Additional Training)
