School of Medicine Dean's Ambassadors

The Dean’s Ambassadors (DAs) are students selected to promote the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine at a variety of events. DAs serve as Ambassadors for the Office of Admissions, the Office of Student Affairs and the Dean of the School of Medicine by providing insight and perspective on TTUHSC to new or potential students. Additionally, DA's are called upon by the Dean of the School of Medicine to participate in special events and meetings.
Meet the Officers

I chose TTUHSC School of Medicine because I went to undergrad at TTU and really liked the Lubbock environment and wanted to continue my education here. I also was impressed by all the academic resources the school provides for its students and the collaborative environment the school promotes.

I chose TTUHSC- Lubbock School of Medicine because I ultimately loved the culture and sense of community that I felt when I talked to the students and faculty.

I chose TTUHSC because of the strong community and support system it offers. While providing many excellent opportunities, TTUHSC fosters a collaborative environment that enhances our skills and prepares us for joining the healthcare industry.

The camaraderie, encouraging peer group, and sincerely supportive faculty that is invested in my success, set TTUHSC apart and ultimately led me to choose this program. I love being part of the TTUHSC School of Medicine family!

I love the collaborative environment that this school offers between the students, professors and TA’s which makes the learning experience better and less stressful. In addition I love the school's emphasis on improving healthcare to the underserved population and the opportunities it provides their students to do so.

When I first visited the TTUHSC SoM Lubbock campus, I immediately felt like I was at home because of the welcoming community that was highly invested in my success. I was further drawn in by the incredible resources we have available in order to master our clinical skills and enhance our classroom learning experiences.

The main reason I chose TTUHSC is because of the comfort I found immediately after touring. Everyone was so welcoming and the students did not seem competitive with each other at all.

Ever since my first visit to the Medical School, it has been clear to me that the faculty members here care deeply for their students and will do anything they can to fulfill their needs and meet their goals. My experiences throughout all of my higher education has been that the faculty and facilities within the TTU system are built to help get you wherever you need or want to be.

I chose TTUHSC-Lubbock School of Medicine due to the unique and welcoming environment I felt on my interview day from not only the Dean's Ambassadors, but the professors as well. As a student of the TTU Honors College, I wanted to stay in my hometown and the TTU system, and I was given the wonderful opportunity to apply for the Early Acceptance Program. Also, West Texas is home to me, and I want to stay in the West Texas panhandle to serve these communities.

Applications are emailed out in the fall and spring semesters of your first year of medical school only. You may apply both semesters. Each applicant will receive an interview.
Dean’s Ambassadors accumulate points to remain in good standing through volunteering at virtual interview days, socials for newly admitted students, and additional tours and events serving students and the community. Below are the requirements for current DA’s.
