Fostering a Culture that Supports and Empowers
Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Internal Medicine provides exceptional patient care, conducts research to improve health and health care delivery, and trains clinician leaders and scholars. Our staff and faculty are ever-mindful of a work-life balance and strive to maintaining a culture that promotes positivity and empowerment.
Internal Medicine Research
Our faculty have won many research awards and are national and international recognized. There are currently five endowed chairs within the Department of Internal Medicine that promote research. We have large collaborative research groups: Texas Tech Cancer Research Group, Center for Renal and Urologic Research Group, Cardiovascular Research Group, GI/ID Research Group.
Our electronic journal publishes original articles, reviews, commentary on public policy, educational updates, case reports, images, and letters. The editor, Kenneth Nugent, MD is the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Program Director, as well as a SSCI Mentor of the Year award faculty member.
Annually we host an out-of-town Resident Retreat to evaluate the education value of our program, review quality of life issues, emphasize team building, and create specific recommendations for change. Learn More
