I earned my Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Community Health Education, followed by my ADN, then went on to complete both my Master of Science in Nursing and my Doctor of Nursing Practice.
My clinical background is rooted in women’s health, where I’ve spent time in labor and delivery and in an OB/GYN office working alongside my own OB/GYN. Along the way, I’ve also worked in staffing across multiple specialties within the hospital and served as a Utilization Review nurse for Baylor Scott & White.
I love working with students across all levels and watching future nurses grow into confident professionals. I also continue to serve as a CHOICES 360 sexual health educator, working with middle and high school students throughout Lubbock County and surrounding areas. This work is especially close to my heart, as it grew out of my doctoral project and has continued to expand in ways I never imagined.
In addition, I serve as the Head of the Leadership Succession Committee for the Sigma Theta Tau Iota Mu chapter. My professional passion remains centered on women’s health, and I’ve been fortunate to conduct research and present at Sigma Theta Tau International conferences.
