Celesta Joslyn Gibbs

Celesta Gibbs holds a Master of Science in Molecular Pathology and is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Molecular Pathology (MP) program. With 7 years of clinical laboratory experience, she is highly proficient in high-complexity assays and has expertise in assay validation and implementation, which led to her advancement into technical supervisor and laboratory manager roles. Her transition into academia was supported by a strong foundation as a Teaching Assistant and Adjunct Instructor, which began in 2017, combined with her practical laboratory background. Certified in Molecular Biology by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Celesta maintains the essential credentials for both clinical practice and specialized instruction. Since joining the faculty full-time in 2022, she has been honored twice as the MP program’s Outstanding Faculty of the Year and has received the Dean’s Academic Achievement for New Faculty award.
