I joined Texas Tech Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Lubbock, TX in 2007 as an assistant professor in August 2007. I am board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology (Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Lubbock, TX), cytopathology (University of Alabama at Birmingham.Birmingham, AL), and Hematopathology (M.D.Anderson Cancer Center Houston, TX).
As a staff pathologist I use cytological, histologic and molecular techniques providing physicians diagnostic/prognostic information, and enabling proactive monitoring of treatment. I interpret aspiration and exfoliative cytology, Fine needle aspirations (FNAs), Gyn cytology, bone marrow and lymph node biopsies, and renal biopsies.In addition, I present Tumor board, Hemepath, and Renal biopsy conferences. I am an active member of University Medical Center (UMC) Performance Improvement Committee, UMC Cancer committee, and UMC Operating Room committee, and Texas Tech Medical School Admission Committee. I am section director of cytopathology.
I am actively involved in teaching Urologic Pathology, Renal Pathology and Hematopathology to medical students, residents and fellows.I have been involved in community preceptorship for first and second year medical students and have participated in Texas Tech Mentor program.
I am an active member and lead inspector for College of American Pathologists (CAP) and have inspected multiple university and commercial labs.
