Dr. Dennis currently serves as Acting Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in the Julia Jones Matthews School of Population and Public Health. He joined TTUHSC in 2015 and has directed the MPH Applied Practice Experience since 2017, placing students in practice projects across Texas and the U.S. He received a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder with a focus on population health and demography. His current research uses demographic tools and data toward better examining population health outcomes in rural Texas. Additional work explores the links between the mental health and the criminal justice systems.
