Kolby Taylor Redd

Kolby T. Redd, PhD, MHA, FACHE is originally from Easton, Pennsylvania, a town located Northeast of Philadelphia. She received her B.S. degree in Biology with a minor in Health Promotion Education & Behavior, her MHA in Health Administration, and her Ph.D. in Health Services Policy & Management with an emphasis in Health Promotion Education & Behavior from the University of South Carolina.
She has served in several roles within the healthcare industry over the last 20 years. She first began working as a Patient Care Technician within a Level I trauma center. From there she moved into Administration within the hospital and successfully developed new service line business programs, with the most notable being the Left Ventricular Assist Device Program at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. She has worked in state government at the S. C. Department of Health and Environmental Control working on state-wide initiatives to increase the health and well-being of the people across the state. She has also worked within the nonprofit world at the American Heart Association as the Director of Community Health for the state of SC. She last served as Research Assistant Professor and the Director of Research for Neuroscience USC School of Medicine before moving into academia full-time in 2019.
She has a vast amount of teaching experience, beginning first at the University of South Carolina where she taught a course for undergraduate students and an elective for graduate students. She has also taught at Charleston Southern University where she served as their subject matter expert for their adult learning program in Healthcare Management, and for Texas Tech University in the Master of Science in Healthcare Administration (MHSA) program. She joined Anderson University full-time as an Assistant Professor in March 2019 teaching in the Healthcare Management program within the College of Health Professions.
She is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) where she serves on the South Carolina ACHE Board of Directors and as the SC ACHE Midlands Local Programming Council Chair. She is also a member of the South Carolina Public Health Association where she works on the Mid-Year Conference Planning Committee and serves as an abstract reviewer for the annual conference.
She has been happily married to her husband since 2012 who serves the community as a Captain overseeing several different fire departments for Lexington County. They have a son named Kaden (2020) and a daughter named Katelyn (2022).
