Lee Tolbert Atkins

Dr. Lee Atkins, PT, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Science (ScD) Program in Rehabilitation Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He earned his PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences, with an emphasis in Clinical Biomechanics, from TTUHSC and is a licensed physical therapist. Dr. Atkins' research focuses on lower extremity biomechanics, particularly the biomechanical factors associated with patellofemoral pain and the development of movement-based interventions to improve patient outcomes. His research also encompasses various forms of gait, including walking, stair negotiation, and running. In addition to his research, Dr. Atkins teaches graduate courses in biomechanics, research design, and statistics, where he is committed to mentoring the next generation of clinician-scientists.
