Leigh Ann Reel

Associate Professor, Director of Center

Dr. Leigh Ann Reel is an associate professor of audiology in the TTUHSC Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and the director of the Center for Speech, Language, and Hearing Research. She has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and has been awarded research and clinical grants. Her line of research relates to noise-induced hearing loss and use of hearing protection for children and adults. Dr. Reel’s studies have focused on children in rural areas, junior high and high school teachers who teach shop classes that use loud power tools/equipment, fitness class instructors and participants, and auto mechanics. Her goal is to identify populations at risk for noise-induced hearing loss and develop educational materials and programs designed to motivate these populations to protect their hearing.
