Li joined Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy as an Assistant Professor in September 2023 . She also directs a mass spectrometry core facility on the Dallas campus, currently supported by CPRIT, known as the North Texas Clinical Pharmacology Cancer Core.
Li received her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2014. She subsequently worked for two years as a Research Scientist at the Shimadzu Institute for Research Technologies, followed by postdoctoral training at the Georgia Institute of Technology (2016-2018) and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (2019-2022). She was awarded the Rainwater 30th Anniversary Tau Leadership Fellowship during the stay at UTSW 2022.
Li is an analytical chemist and translational medical researcher with expertise in analytical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and structural biology. Her interdisciplinary work leverages advanced technologies including high resolution mass spectrometry, AI-assisted laser capture microdissection system, and cryo-electron microscopy to study biomolecular structure, identify disease biomarkers, and characterize drug targets.
