Dr. Mary Ann Faucher is Professor of Nursing at Texas Tech Health Science Center in the Graduatae School of Nursing. She enjoys teaching midwifery, research and leadership. Previously she practiced midwifery at Parkland Health, Dallas, Texas, where she led her grant funded opioid addiction prevention and treatment program.
Dr. Faucher has approximately 70 publications and has authored chapters in well-known textbooks used in nurse-midwifery education programs. Her research covers behavioral aspects of obesity including in pregnancy and gestational weight gain, behavioral change overall, and system design in delivery of care. Most recently, she completed a year long study in genetics and her current research involves modifiable risk behavioral factors and late onset Alzheimer's Disease in women. She has conducted both qualitative and quantitative studies and has received over a million dollars in internal and external funding.
Dr. Faucher holds a Ph.D. from Texas Women’s University and dual masters’ degrees from Columbia University. She is a fellow in the American College of Nurse-Midwives and served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Midwifery & Women’s Health for two decades.
